Concept
Contagious diseases and viral diseases spread rapidly where there is no access to free public and proper hand washing facilities. In Ghana, there is no free public hand-washing facilities within the markets square and entry points into our communities. In a world of struggle, we spend quality time outside of our homes. If there’s a viral disease, it is being spread outside and we carry them home unaware. Therefore there’s a need to provide fitting foot water tap system at vantage points. This will sensitize our minds to wash our hands before going home and create a healthy economy.

WHY THE ABOVE MISSION

In just 2days from 14th - 16th March 2020, Ghana had recorded 6 patients infected with Coronavirus (COVID-19)! Many could be infected in the coming days as seen in the worldwide battle across in nearly every country on our planet earth. We have to prepare against wide spread.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has counseled and cautioned strongly regular hand washing with soap. The President of the Republic of Ghana has reiterated the caution to Ghanaians and everywhere the world over, same practice is expected of everyone.

The virus is spreading at an unprecedented rate and the early we heed and practice the directive, the better we fight against infection and spread of COVID-19.
We must create a sanitizing point at the entry points into our communities.

In future, beyond COVID-19, the foot-water-taps in the communities will enhance personal hygiene through regular hand washing against any concerns of similar health threats.
JOIN THE MISSION
The Young Entrepreneurs Sphere has created an On-line Account System that allows Ghanaians - entrepreneurs and corporate institutions to donate towards the installations of foot-water-tap systems at various bus stops that also serve as most entry points into the communities and at vantage points within most communities.
OUR GOAL
For each marked territories, our goal is to raise GHc100,000 funds to make hand-washing easily accessible in almost every major corners in Accra as the major challenge is with lack of easy accesses to hand-washing points outside home.
OUR MOTIVATION
Young Young Entrepreneurs Sphere noticed that people respond to washing hands regularly such as when getting down from public transports when the system of washing hands is installed at the points. As entrepreneurs and dreamers, we can only create solutions for personal developments and growth. Thus we have observed that this project will go a long way to help many people wash away viruses on hand and further prevent being infected.
MATERIALS & IMPLEMENTATION
Installations will be relative to different environments. Our teams have put various marks and recommendations that will be convenient as well as effective for different communities.
- Some communities will get bore-hole supply of water for the installations at some locations
- Water reservoirs in all installation territories
- Pipe tube connectivity
- Basic outdoor sink
- Metal stalks
Implementation:
- A team of technical expert in foot-tap-installations
- Tutors at installation points
- Water reservoirs refill (applicable to non-borehole installations)
